C. Dane Schoss

July 18, 1956 ~ February 14, 2012

Dane Schoss, 55, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2012. Dane left with the angels in the early morning hours on Valentine's Day to be with his Mother, Father, Aunt Raedele, Uncle Gary, Fergie, Mike, and many other family members and friends. Dane married Diane Alberts on December 31. 1980. They had one loving daughter, Krystal Lynn Schoss. They were later divorced. He then Married Charlene Rees Ostler, they were later divorced. On August 13, 2011, he married his soul mate, Donya Renee Carter.

Dane was born to Vern Fred Schoss and Viola Fuit Schoss on July 18, 1956 in Ogden, Utah. He was raised all of his life in the Ogden/Roy area. He worked many years for HAFB. He was a founder of Wholefood 2U-Abundance Living Food with his dear friends Al and LeAnn Thompson whom he loved dearly. He recently returned to work at HAFB for ESN. Dane was a work horse and always gave 110% at everything he took on.

Dane's true love was baseball. His dream was to play ball professionally. He has been a Raptor's Fan for many, many years. He was a host parent to many of the Raptor players whom he grew to love and followed them throughout their baseball careers. Dane also enjoyed playing pool and looked forward to league night to be with his team whom he called his brothers. Camping, fishing, motorcycle riding, and 4-wheeling were a few of the other activities he loved. Dane was so outgoing and made so many friends over his lifetime. . .friends he called family. To know Dane was to love Dane. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We are sure the baseball game began the minute he arrived, with Dane pitching a no hitter.

He is survived by his wife, Donya; a daughter, Krystal; three step children Brooke Alberts, Logan Carter, and Karissa Carter; a great grandchild, Jasiris Dane Card; a sister, Jackie (John) Tucker; a niece, Marona Archer (Buddy) whom Dane considered to be his daughter; Special Friends, Cindy Simone, Dale and Brenda Wise, whom he loved dearly; Michael Troy Fuit, whom Dane considered a son; Rick Fuit and Rich Stone with whom he was very close and loved dearly. He is survived by many other family members too numerous to mention.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Family will greet friends one hour prior.

Cremation under the direction of Leavitt's Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help with funeral expenses would be appreciated. Special thanks to all the family and friends for their love and support during this tragic time.
