Verna Brown Fronberg, 86, was called home on June 29, 2012 following a stroke. She was born July 16, 1925 to Horace Ballantyne and Myrtle Garner Brown. She married Harold "Hal" Fronberg on April 27, 1962 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with 2 children and 6 grandchildren.
She graduated from Weber High. During the war she was a "Rosie the Riveter" sheet metal mechanic. Later she worked at the railroad and retired in 1971. In her younger years she was a softball pitcher and played for the Utah Shamrocks. She enjoyed photography, bowling, sports, genealogy and attending the Temple.
As a friend to all, she encouraged others to overcome their hardships and took on household tasks to ease their burdens. She loved serving others through Church callings in Ward and Stake Relief Society Presidencies, Mutual President and Visiting Teacher.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and a brother. She is survived by her husband Hal, her children Todd (Stephanie) Fronberg, Sheri (Jeff) Allen, her grandchildren Scott Fronberg, Kevin Fronberg; Ashlee Allen, Alyssa Allen, Aimee Allen and Adam Allen; and her sister Eva Mae (Jim) Kunz.
Funeral services will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th St. on Tuesday July 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. A viewing will be held on Monday July 2, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Leavitt's and one hour prior to the service.
