Ronald A. Johnson
Ronald A. Johnson beloved father, uncle, grandfather, and friend passed away on January 21, 2012 in Mesquite, Nevada. A long time resident of South Weber Utah, Ron enjoyed a long life with many friends.
Ron was born in Helper, Utah on August 24, 1923 to Alma L. and Ida Grace Fisher Johnson of Preston, Idaho, and was a member of the LDS Church. The family moved to Utah in 1943. Ron served in the Army during WWII in the European theater.
He married Helen M. Evans, originally from Portland, Indiana, on November 3, 1947 in Elko, Nevada. They had one son, Ronald E. (Sandra) Johnson of Roy, and a niece, Billie Jo Evans Flink, who he loved more than a daughter. Ron had five grandchildren; Michael E. Johnson, Megan (Nick) Hadley, Miles Flink, Samantha Flink, and Skye Braithwaite.
Ron worked at the DDO and retired from Hill Field after a 35 year career. He enjoyed being a member of the Elks, Eagles, Prime Timers, and other groups. He had many wonderful memories of supportive friends with whom he golfed, bowled, traveled, and spent time with at the North Ogden Senior Center. He also loved his wonderful neighbors.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers and sister, and many friends. He will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
