So sorry to hear that Verna had passed away. She was a really nice lady and I loved having her (and the rest of you) for our neighbor for so many years. I'm sure we weren't the easiest people to live next to, but you never complained.
I missed seeing the two of you in the store after I retired. My thoughts and prayers will be with you at this time.

I was saddened to hear that Verna had passed away and I am so sorry for your loss. She was a special lady and I remember a lot of years she came to our office she was always so friendly and always smiling.

Sheri and Todd, your mom was such a dear friend of our family. I have cherished the times I have seen her since my mother passed away. She gave me the biggest hug when I saw her two months ago. Verna: Since my own Mother passed away 17 years ago, you have been my full time Momma. You gave me advice and encouragement. You were the one person who completely understood the difficulties of my life. You taught me to look on the bright side and count my blessings instead of my troubles. Sheri was there for our family last year when our loved one was in hospice and she actually extended her hours with the hospice company, which was a completely selfless act on her part. She did not want to leave our family until our loved one passed away. Even when that time came, she stayed all day to make sure we were all OK and taken care of.

Sheri is definitely part of our family and always will be so I hope you all will let us help you in your time of need and sorrow. Please know that I can testify that there is life after death because of an experience I had with my dad shortly after he died. There is no doubt that God had a plan and we will see our loved ones again. In fact, I'm sure my dad would have been one to help welcome your mother/grandmother and that he couldn't wait to tell her how awesome Sheri is for all she did for him and for our family.

They say funerals aren't for the dead but for the living and I believe that is true as well. Funerals (or Wakes) are for us to remember and celebrate the lives of those we lost. I'm sure your mother/grandmother wouldn't want you to be sad for her loss but to rejoice in her life she lived and love she gave to you all. Mourn her loss but celebrate her and her life. She will never leave your heart and will always be there, just listen and you will hear her whispers.
